There are a lot of Arthletic people in our area. Living around here, it’s pretty hard not to develop both a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us. With world class mountain biking right in our backyard and world class picture-perfect landscapes surrounding us, it’s no surprise that we are home to some of the most artistic and athletic people around. But so often it seems that artists take their inspiration from athletes and vice versa that I believe they aren’t either artistic or athletic; they are arthletic.
Don’t believe me?
Come to Waterbury, July 15-17 and check out two awesome events that will highlight arthleticism at its finest.
The Stowe Street Arts Festival - Friday July 15 & Saturday July 16 – This festival is packed full of art! Friday night will showcase LIVE from Stowe Street! For a bargain $5/person and kids under 5 free, head to Stowe Street in Waterbury for an evening of clever performing arts, hilarious comedy and acrobatic talent that everyone will enjoy! Your ticket includes entry into a raffle for some very cool prizes too! Then on Saturday, check out the talent of over 50 artists of all mediums as they set up all along Stowe Street and Bidwell Lane for the day. Be serenaded by musical performances from the Lost Nation Theater, Gordon Stone & more. There will also be artist demonstrations, wonderful local food and Britney the calf will be there too! Saturday admission is free.
The Vermont Mountain Bike Festival - Saturday July 16 & Sunday July 17 – For anyone who has ever considered mountain biking, the Vermont Mountain Bike Association hosts this event and offers clinics for everyone, from the best of the best, to the worst of the worst (like me!) They will also feature demonstrations and a finger-lickin’ good BBQ.
So be sure to spend THIS weekend tapping into your arthletic nature and head to Waterbury to flex those strong and creative muscles of yours!
