Get your holiday groove on!

16 Nov

Holy Macaroni!

I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year! I can’t ski, but it’s typically to cold or wet to do the other fun outdoorsy things I like. It’s also hunting season so I have to convince my dog to wear her bright orange jacket before going outside. That can certainly be a challenge.

But I am in the most exciting phases of planning for the Moretown Artisans’ Sale! I’m about to litter the area with posters, send out press releases and photos and ads. I’m designing the layout for the new activities that will go on in the lower lever and finalizing the vendor list for the show! I’m just so excited I can hardly handle it!

I am also getting ready for an open house that I will host at my office this Saturday! (I will post more on this in a bit.) And there’s also the awesome telelmark movie: the FreeHeel Life coming soon to the Big Picture! Oh yeah – and Thanksgiving is coming up too! :)

Not quite a chicken (or a turkey?) with it’s head cut off, I’m still running around trying to make sure all my plans are perfectly executed! It’s a challenge I am most certainly up to! The more work I do, the more of a groove I get in to, and the more exciting things get!

I will be updating both this page and my Moretown Artisans’ Blog with serious regularity now so be sure to check them both daily!

Where the Bleep Have I Been?

27 Oct

I know, I know. I’ve been totally MIA for almost two weeks now! Don’t I get it? You need some attention too, right? Where do I get off not updating my blog and thinking that you wouldn’t notice?! There’s no way this can continue; it’s either update my damn blog or it’s over!

Well, here I am with my online tail between my legs! I have good excuses, but none of them change the part where I’ve been slacking on the updates. My deepest digital apologies to you!

So what on earth have I been upto? I’ve been busily immersed in a bunch of fun events including a wedding up at Mad River Glen, a surprise 60th birthday party, a college reunion, a telemark skiing movie, an art sale, a photography contest and a little something called the Promski. Some projects have been completed and are out to pasture, others are like teenagers about to get their drivers licenses, while the rest are incubating under the heat lamp of the planning stages. I may have been slacking in the blogosphere, but in the event-oshphere, I’ve been busting my keester!

Have no fear my fellow Eventsters, I am back! I will be updating with far more frequent regularity than my recent track record shows.  And if you don’t see me here, you can also check out my Moretown Artisans’ Sale Blog!

blog on, Wayne!

On deck…

23 Sep

SIP circlesWhile SIPtemberfest has certainly dominated my To Do List recently, it’s not the only project I have going on! I have several private parties lined up, but following those, I will be serving up some really tasty events for the whole community to eat right up!

First up on deck is  Josh Madsen’s deliciously ski-pornographic FreeHeelLife movie at the Big Picture on  December 10th. You know how reading all those ski magazines makes you feel about this time of year? You’re just comping at the bit and can’t wait to get out on the snow! Madsen’s FreeHeelLife movie will be like throwing white gas on the bonfire – careful not to burn your eyebrows off! The timing of this film couldn’t be better as knocks on the door of Mad River Glen’s projected opening weekend! So if you do scorch your frizz, you can cover it right up with your helmet and goggles and no one will be the wiser!

My own personal opening days of the season will have to come on skins though!  MRG’s opening weekend coincides with the best holiday shopping event around: the Moretown Artisans’ Sale. This sale is chock full of so many amazing hand crafted products you are bound to find a gift for everyone on your list – even your picky aunt or that cousin who already has everything! The Moretown Artisans’ Sale is not only a great opportunity for you to find that perfect gift, but to support local businesses and artisans. So even though I can’t be in two places at once, there’s not reason you can’t get your first turns of the season and cross everything off of your holiday shopping list! Check and Check!
